Maria Karisik brings over 20 years of IT and management consulting experience. Maria supports Agile, big data programs within the intelligence community and leads the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Security Controls Assessment (SCA) program, Blue Canopy’s largest-valued task order. In 2016, the CMS Information Security Privacy Group (ISPG) recognized Maria for Outstanding Performance in support of their operations and initiatives. Prior to Blue Canopy, she was the VP of Program Management at Time Warner Cable’s RoadRunner high-speed data business unit. Maria holds a Bachelor’s from Columbia University.
Chris Armstrong brings over 25 years of operational management and technical experience in analysis, administration, development, and security. He managed and supported programs in 22 Federal Agencies including 12 of the 17 Intelligence Community members. Chris was responsible for the execution of over 500 IT professionals in direct support of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). He has received 11 client and civilian employment awards and over 43 military awards for combat, campaign participation, and service to the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds six industry certifications, including PMP and ITIL.
General Lee brings over 30 years of hands-on operational management experience in multi-functional and multi-disciplined environments. General Lee is responsible for the development, growth, and execution of all National Intelligence Community segments within Blue Canopy’s National Security Solutions Business Unit. Prior to joining Blue Canopy in 2012, General Lee was the Vice President and General Manager for the Military Service Sector at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). He served a distinguished 31-year career in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star.
Andy Stevenson brings over 20 years of IT operations and security experience. He leads Blue Canopy’s largest federal cybersecurity project, overseeing a variety of security operations, spearheading the client’s first security operations center (SOC), and remediating over 1.2M enterprise-wide system vulnerabilities. Over the course of 12 months, Andy doubled contract revenue through his leading-edge solutions. Prior to joining Blue Canopy in 2007, he built and operated international cloud-based networks at AOL and designed and implemented customized technology solutions for worldwide subsidiary companies. Andy holds a BS from Virginia Tech and has PMP, CIPP/G, and CISSP certifications.
Tim Bartholomay brings over 25 years of program management and software/systems engineering experience. Tim focuses his expertise on further developing solutions that assist intelligence community clients rapidly transform, integrate and secure their IT enterprises. Prior to joining Blue Canopy in 2012, Tim worked on multiple R&D engineering teams developing next generation C4ISR and strategic weapon systems. He also served in the U.S. Air Force active and reserves for 24 years. Tim received his MBA from Regis University and holds 5 industry certifications, including PMP, ITIL, and Lean Six Sigma.
Eric Husebo is a senior executive and IT professional with over 30 years of experience running large organizations in support of defense, intelligence, and other government agencies’ mission-critical programs. Eric established Blue Canopy’s government contracting practice in 2003 and is currently Managing Partner for National Security, where he oversees IT management and systems integration within the defense and intelligence communities. Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Eric was a Director within AT&T´s Government solutions organization where he launched successful e-Business and Healthcare IT service practices and ran large government IT contracts.
Reuben Maher brings over 17 years of experience providing visionary, strategic C-level direction to government and private sector clients throughout the entire systems development lifecycle (SDLC). He is co-lead of Blue Canopy’s Next Generation Solutions Business Unit and was awarded Blue Canopy’s Chairman’s Award twice (2007 and 2011). He authored the Earned Value Management (EVM) Readiness Guide and was a featured speaker at the Project Management Institute (PMI) College of Performance Management’s EVM World in 2010 and 2011. Reuben holds an MBA from American University as well as PMP, ITIL, and AWS Business Professional certifications.
Meaghan Carter brings over 15 years of federal consulting experience with specialized expertise in managing large and highly complex projects. Meaghan is Blue Canopy’s Account Lead and Program Manager for the U.S. Treasury’s award-winning, government-wide shared service offering, the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Program. She oversees over 500 software releases a year using a 100% Agile SCRUM methodology. In 2008, Meaghan was recognized as one of the top “30 Under 30” in the consulting industry and made the FCW Fed100 List in 2017. Meaghan holds CSM, PMP, and ITIL certifications.
Adi Karisik brings over 15 years of highly specialized experience in international negotiations, multi-functional team development, human terrain reading, complex leadership development, field training, mission support planning as well as behavioral analysis. Adi established Blue Canopy’s Warfighter Training practice, specializing in human terrain and cross-cultural engagement. Prior to joining Blue Canopy in 2004, Adi worked for several large integrators planning and executing mission-critical training events in the DoD arena. He co-authored a Predictive Threat Analysis Concept for determining inside threat levels and holds an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Ryan Brewer brings over 20 years of experience advising industry and federal executives on enterprise-level strategies for large IT and cybersecurity programs. Prior to Blue Canopy, Ryan founded GrayScout LLC, a healthcare focused cyber security small business. He worked in both private and public sector organizations within the United States and abroad developing and transforming large IT security programs and served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Ryan holds a Master’s degree along with CISSP, GCIH, and C|CISO certifications.
Lisa Kurz brings over 20 years of Federal consulting experience focusing on efficient and effective delivery of custom-built IT solutions. Ms.Kurz is responsible for the development, execution and operations of the Next Generation/Civilian Business Unit, which has experienced year-over-year revenue growth of 30%. Lisa is the lead for Blue Canopy’s Agile delivery projects and Agile Delivery Solution Toolkit. Prior to joining Blue Canopy in 2008, Lisa was a Senior Manager in BearingPoint’s Federal Services. She served on the National Grants Management Association’s (NGMA) Board of Directors and is a Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS). Lisa received her MPA from Virginia Tech, and has SAFe, CSM, and ITIL certifications.
Gus Tomé has over 17 years of IT engineering and critical system design experience, including 11 years as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As Blue Canopy’s acting CTO, Gus is a main cyber innovator and strategist highly experienced in the design, deployment, and management of secure networking architectures. Gus’s efforts helped grow Blue Canopy’s cybersecurity revenue from $0 to $60M in 7 years. He is a major contributor and author of several patents focused on trusted operations, embedded devices hardening, and Next Gen Cyber tools. He holds over a dozen professional certifications, including CISSP, CEH and CISM.
Jim Anderson brings over 30 years of IT experience with an emphasis on security architecture, engineering, and assessment. Jim joined Blue Canopy in 2014 to lead the Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid (FSA) account. Prior to Blue Canopy, he served as the Associate Department Head for Deloitte’s federal cybersecurity group and was the System Security Officer for a Fortune 50 cybersecurity program. Jim authored several security documents, including the Technical Reference Architecture Security Guidance that translated a client’s conceptual reference architecture into an actionable guide for deploying information systems.
MJ Peters brings over 25 years of government contracting and management experience. Since joining Blue Canopy in 2009, she has been a key player in Blue Canopy’s successful growth through her leadership, management, and technical experience in federal acquisition, contracts management, federal grants management, and commercial contracts. Prior to Blue Canopy, MJ worked at BearingPoint LLC as the Healthcare Sector Contracts Manager, where she managed $160M in Healthcare contracts/subcontracts, and was also part of the Small Business Office. MJ holds CPCM and Cost Analyst certifications and received her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.
Norm Welsch, CPA, brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience for diverse, rapid-growth technology and government contracting firms. Norm’s background includes CFO roles with NASDAQ and NYSE companies, as well as strategic leadership roles in public and private companies. Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Norm served as CFO of many successful companies, including The Columbia Group Inc, Secure Data in Motion Inc, NextiraOne Federal LLC, Infodata Systems Inc, Netrix Corporation, and DynCorp/CBIS-Federal Inc. Norm served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam-era veteran. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Benjamin Franklin University (now part of George Washington University) and passed the CPA exam in 1985.
Sheryl Schwartz brings over 20 years of finance, consulting, system integration, and training experience. Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Sheryl was a Partner with KPMG, where she began her career as a CPA supporting a variety of publicly and privately held companies. She later transitioned into the telecommunications consulting practice, where she developed a national strategic plan and was a key leader in its execution and integration. Her primary focus was on building and delivering OSS and BSS process improvement and technology solutions to large and mid-size carriers. Sheryl holds a patent around the solution sets created. She also developed and launched KPMG Consulting's e-commerce methodology and solutions training and, later, its mobile e-commerce training globally. Sheryl graduated from the University of Maryland.
Brad Schwartz brings over 30 years of consulting and systems integration experience. Since joining Blue Canopy in 2006 as President & CEO, he has achieved a significant year-on-year growth, propelling Blue Canopy from a small business to a large, $115M-a-year company (2016). As a 2013 Tech Titan and NVTC Board Member, Brad has a passion for growing people and businesses. He was honored as the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic Region (technical services). Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Brad was the Group Executive Vice President (EVP) for BearingPoint where he directly managed a $3.4B P&L with 15,000 professionals operating in four regions and 34 countries. In every role, Brad achieved market-leading growth, created innovative, client-relevant solutions, and built world-class leadership teams. He holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
