The organization is committed to social responsibility, civic involvement, and making a difference. We encourage our employees to play a vital part and show pride in their community through charitable, volunteer, and philanthropic activities.
Hall of Fame Supporter
Blue Canopy regularly donates to local and national charities. The organization acts in response to global crisis efforts by the American Red Cross. Members of our staff participate in fundraising activities and volunteer in their local community. Junior Achievement of Greater Washington recognized Blue Canopy as a “Hall of Fame Supporter.”
Supporting Military Veterans and the Intelligence Community
Blue Canopy supports the Warfighter and patriotic Americans that served in our Armed Forces and Intelligence Community. We are an active participant in veterans’ initiatives that include the Special Operations Warriors Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, CIA Officers Memorial Foundation, and the local Veteran’s Day paintball invitational tournament to benefit assorted veterans groups.
Helping those Less Fortunate
Blue Canopy employees and their families participated in “Walk MS” in Reston, Va., raising funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The company donated to The Alzheimer’s Association, helping fund the mission of eliminating Alzheimer’s and providing support and care to people afflicted with the disease.
Blue Canopy hosted an employee “Three-on-Three” basketball tournament to raise funds for The Special Olympics.
Blue Canopy employees actively participated in the Northern Virginia “Kidney Walk” to support the National Kidney Foundation.
Blue Canopy donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during the Lee™ National Denim Day.
Green Initiatives in the Community
The Blue Canopy headquarters is adjacent to one of the most popular parks in the area – the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority W&OD Trail. Blue Canopy promotes an eco-friendly work environment with an internal recycling program and paper-saving initiative in all their offices.
Helping Young People Learn
Blue Canopy continues its community involvement through support of area education programs. The organization has donated scholarship funds to the University of Maryland, providing educational opportunities for area students. We also demonstrated our commitment to education by supporting the Equal Footing Foundation, dedicated to fostering youth education and development. Blue Canopy is also a sponsor of The Fishing School, which provides academic, leadership development, and life skills training programs to more than 3,000 young people and families in Washington, DC.
Our management team serves on the boards of philanthropic and industry-focused associations and trade groups like the Northern Virginia Technology Council; National Grants Management Association; U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation; and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Industry Advisory Council.
